HigherEdExperts.com Webinar Wrap-Up

Today, I led my 3rd webinar for HigherEdExperts.com - and thanks to Karine’s dilligence, it went off without a hitch. Well, the fourth if you count the recording Josh and I did with her as part of HighEdWebDev ‘07 in Rochester, where we did a webcast of our Facebook presentation.

I spoke about building your very first Facebook application, walking through the development process, choosing a platform and how to build a simple Facebook application that processes RSS feeds. The talk was much more technical then the Introduction to MySpace and Facebook webinars I led last fall, which was fun for me to dig into. With only 45 minutes to talk, I didn’t dig down too deep into the PHP end of things, but hopefully it was enough to get people excited and ready to try to build their first Facebook application.

There weren’t a ton of questions at the end, but I imagine once people get the code we provided as a guide, they will probably have a ton of questions. That’s good - I’m excited to answer them and point them in the right direction.

If you haven’t participated in one of Karine’s webinars, they really are very beneficial. She has a very diverse series of topics - from social networking to using video.
