Get Ready for Chrome
So, you may have noticed yesterday that Google’s put out a new comic book talking about their new browser projects, Chrome. The book’s a great read about all the new features and tools in the new browser.
They are re-thinking how a browser should work – given that many of the ways we use browsers today weren’t around when the browser was created. The browser will feature a super-fast javascript engine, tabs that also serve a process managers – allowing for multi-threaded applications.
The browser will be based on Webkit, the browser engine used by Safari on Mac, PC and the iPhone. Webkit is also used in Google’s mobile project, Android.
No download yet, but from reports I’ve read this morning, expect a Windows beta in the next day or so. I hope a Mac version isn’t far behind.

I’m glad to see that with the new browser they are rethinking some “old” browser behavior and doing things differently. Also glad there is no new HMTL rendering engine, although the new Javascript engine will require anyone using JS and worried about Chrome to test there.
