Back in July, I blogged about the Alexander Hotel Internet Theorem. In it, my hero Bryan Alexander* posits that the nicer the hotel, the worse the internet experience is.

The last few days, I’ve been at the Educause and NERCOMP Workshop Series for IT Managers. I’ll be posting about that in the next day or so, but we’re staying at the Four Points in Norwood, Mass. It’s a decent hotel, but the internet speeds are like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s so fast, I feel like I should be downloading everything I can. Here’s a screenshot from one of the many speed tests I’ve run since I arrived.

I downloaded iTunes 8 in 45 seconds. The bad news is that I’m heading home tomorrow to my slow-by-comparison broadband. The good news is that I’ll be back here in October.

* – Bryan showed up in a picture in one of the Powerpoints today. It was awesome.
