I’ll be doing research and teaching in the area of cloud computing. Needless to say, I’m very excited about this opportunity to learn even more about the cloud and share that knowledge with other liberal arts colleges across the country.

I’ve been involved with NITLE for a few years through training sessions I’ve attended, presenting at CNI with Bryan Alexander and the social software group in 2005-2006. It’s a great group of educators and technologists and I’m looking forward to picking even more brains there over the next 15 or so months.

Oh, and I had a few Twitters from people asking if I’m leaving Allegheny. Nope – this will be on top of my work here and the College has been very cool in giving me the OK to participate in this fellowship.

IT and library staff members at participating institutions within the United States are eligible to apply for NITLE’s Technology Fellowships, using them to expand their expertise in specific technologies that are of strong interest to non-profit, undergraduate-focused higher education. NITLE Technology Fellows share their new skills with colleagues across the NITLE Network via teaching and consulting.

Will there be a Council of Elrond at NITLE headquarters at some point?
